Boxer, The National very quickly became one of my favorite indie bands from the last decade. Lead singer Matt Berninger has a uniquely deep and powerful voice that brings all of The National's songs to vivid life. Well it's not just his voice doing all the work; all of the band's music feature stunning lyrics to boot.
And now in 2010, The National are set to return with
High Violet due for release May 11th. The band recently debuted their new song "Terrible Love" on Jimmy Fallon and it is nothing short of breathtaking. If the studio recording of the song has even half the energy of this live version, The National will surely have another classic on their hands.
